Abstract:

In the talk I will present a strategy for handling mean field limits of quantum mechanical systems. The method is simple and effective. It is simple, because it translates the idea behind the   mean-field description of a many particle quantum system directly into a mathematical algorithm. It is effective because, with less effort, the strategy yields better results than previously achieved. As an instructional example we treat a simple model for the time-dependent Hartree equation which we derive under more general conditions than what has been considered so far. Other quantum systems can also be  treated.

简介:Pickl博士于德国慕尼黑大学获得物理专业学士和硕士学位,以及数学专业博士学位(2005年)。2005年到2010年,Pickl博士在最负盛名的两个数学物理研究团队中进行博士后研究,一个是由瑞士苏黎世联邦理工学院理论物理研究所JürgFröliche教授和Gian-Michele Graf教授所领导的研究团队,另一个是奥地利维也纳大学物理系JakobYngvason教授所领导的的研究团队。自2010年9月起,Pickl博士担任慕尼黑大学数学研究所教授。Pickl博士的主要研究重点是经典和量子系统的平均场描述,采用新的阿尔法方法以证明平均场结果。
