Title:Mathematical Modeling of HIV-1 trafficking and assembly

Abstract:

In this talk, the applications of mathematics in the research of complex diseases are introduced. Specifically, I present a modeling study for the intracellular trafficking and assembly of the HIV-1 Gag proteins. Combining theoretical analysis, optimization and numerical simulations, we obtain the quantitative results for HIV-1 Gag protein trafficking and polymerization. These results provide important information and insight into control strategies of HIV infection and HIV therapy.
