摘要:Necessary and sufficient conditions are established for a two-agent flock model to admit a time-asymptotic flocking provided the processing delay is relatively small. The results provide  a relation based on which proper initial positions and velocities can be selected to form a flocking with predetermined position displacement distance. The concepts of flocking-transcritical bifurcation and flocking-Hopf bifurcation are introduced. These bifurcations show that the processing delay  can terminate or induce a flocking, and can also induce a periodic flocking.  It is also shown that the processing delay can induce flocking switches in the sense that as the processing delay varies, the flock may undergo a sequence of bifurcations leading to the switch from one flocking state to another.
