Title: Dynamics of wild and sterile mosquitoes models with homogeneous or stage-structured populations

Abstract:The sterile insect technique (SIT), in which sterile mosquitoes are released to reduce or eradicate the wild mosquito population, is an effective weapon to prevent the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases. To study the impact of SIT on the disease transmissions, we formulate continuous- or discrete-time mathematical models with homogeneous or stage-structured wild and sterile mosquitoes populations to study their interactive dynamics. Different releasing strategies are incorporated into the various models and their impacts on the interactive dynamics are investigated and compared.
